How to make a book
Making a reservation with Car Rental Abroad is easy as

trained staff will give you the best price & service
when booking with Car Rental Abroad. Once your booking
is confirmed you will immediately receive a Pre-Paid Car
Hire Voucher.

What’s
not included in the price
- Personal accident insurance (PAI), this is
normally covered
in your holiday insurance. If you don't have travel insurance
you will be offered PAI on collection of your car and is payable
locally.
- Optional extras items such as a child seat, roof rack,
out of hours, delivery charges and additional driver charges
are all payable locally if required.
- All petrol / fuel, tolls, congestion charges, parking
and traffic fines are the responsibility of the driver.
- Young driver charges & one way rental where
applicable
Flight information
If you are collecting your hired vehicle at an airport.
It is essential that you provide carrentabroad.com the
correct flight number & arrival time. This can be done
online or by phone.
If your flight number is not available at the time you’re
booking, please ensure that you inform reservations, at
least 7 days before departure, either via e-mail or by
phone. No responsibility can be accepted, for failed rental,
if we are not given the correct flight details 7 days prior
to your collection date or if your vehicle is unavailable
due to your flight being delayed. No refunds can be given
for failed car rental due to incorrect flight details or
flight cancellations.
Special Request
Child seats are mandatory in most countries & can
be requested at when booking your vehicle, however we cannot
guarantee that the items requested will be available therefore
we recommend that you take your own. Roof racks, ski racks,
snow tyres, snow chains are available in most locations
and must be paid for locally. However, we cannot guarantee
that the items requested will be available
Delivery & collection
Your rental vehicle is available for pickup at the airport
or at the local suppliers office. In some locations deliveries
and collections services are available at hotels, offices & accommodations
for a small fee which is payable locally. Full address,
time of delivery/collection & contact telephone number
must be given at the time of booking.
Out
of hours’ charges
In most destinations we can arrange for your vehicle to
be available outside of office hours. However there may
be an additional charge for this service which is payable
locally. In the event that your flight is delayed, causing
collection of the rental vehicle to fall outside of office
hours, this additional charge will still apply.
Insurance
Generally with most car rental partners
the insurance does not cover tyres, windscreen, interior
of the car,
the roof, keys lost or damaged, the contents in car in
an event of theft, lost or damaged keys, without due care & attention,
negligently or where the driver is under the influence
of alcohol or other drugs. Some of our car rental partners
charge an Insurance excess, if the car is returned damaged

Drivers age
If you are under 25 or over 65 years of age, it may be
possible to hire your vehicle, please call our reservation
department & we shall try to accommodate your needs.
Age restriction may only apply in certain destination please
click on what's include to view the age restrictions
limits. Any cancellation due to driver not informing us
of being under/over age will be non-refundable.
Additional drivers
Charges often apply for additional drivers
in certain locations which are payable locally. Please

One way rentals
One way rentals must be confirmed in advance and may be
subject to charges. Please call our reservation staff on
0871 52 00 233 for further details.
Driving licences
The car rental drivers must produce a full British driving
licence held for at least 2-3 years or in some cases an
International Driving Licence/Permit is required in some
countries which have been held for 2-3 years. Drivers with
new style licence must have all sections (i.e
photocard and paper licence) with them. Our reservation staff must
be informed of any endorsements on the driver’s licence
as in some cases, car hire will not be possible with certain
types of endorsements. No refunds will be given for
cancelled
rentals due to non-production of the driving licence or
non-disclosed endorsements. All drivers must produce original
licence as faxed or photocopied licences are not acceptable
Amendments
Please notify us as soon as possible, for any amendments
to the booking. We will do our best to accommodate your
needs. Amendments to a booking will be subject to a £10.00
administration fee.
Cancellations
All cancellations must be made in writing (pre-paid vouchers
must be returned) and will take effect from the date received
by Reservations at Car Rental Abroad. If you need to cancel
your reservation, the following charges will apply. If
your reservation is for more than 14days and you wish to
cancel 28 days before collection; a charge of 25% will
apply.

Vehicle type / Suitability
Car Rental Abroad cannot guarantee a particular/specific
make or model of vehicle. The vehicle description on your
car hire voucher and on this site is for guidance only
and we reserve the right to substitute it with another
similar vehicle.
Deposits & Petrol
Most of our local car rental partners require a deposit
which varies by destination. All customers will be required
to leave a deposit to cover fuel/petrol and other charges
incurred during hire. A valid credit card must be produced
upon collection of the vehicle as a form of deposit and
must be in the name of the lead driver. Please confirm
the fuel policy when collecting your car as some suppliers
provide a full tank, which must be returned full, others
provide a full tank which must be returned empty.
Rental documents
The Pre-paid car hire voucher must be presented when collecting
your rental car. Car Rental Abroad cannot be held responsible
for rentals rejected if a voucher is not presented at the
time of collection.
Once your booking has been confirmed a pre-paid voucher
will be sent to you with in 5 days of your booking.
Service & Quality
Control
If you are dissatisfied with the standard of the vehicle
upon collection, you must report this to the local car
rental partner immediately and inform us in writing within
7 days of your return. Failure to do so will result in
claims not being accepted.
Accidents
In the event of any accidents involving your vehicle,
it is important that details are reported to our local
car rental partner straight away. You should also notify
the local police and obtain a signed police report from
them. You should also obtain full details of any third
parties involved and retain copies of all rental documentation
in the event an insurance company becomes involved. Also
you must complete an accident report form by the end of
the rental period.
A check-in form must be signed on returning the hire vehicle.
Failure to do so may delay the investigation of disputes
regarding damage excess charges.
Mechanical
In the event of any mechanical problems with your rental
vehicle, this should be reported to the local car rental
partner immediately and authority to repair or replace
the vehicle should be obtained from the local car rental
partner supplying your vehicle. The local partners/suppliers
name, address and telephone number appears on your voucher
and the rental agreement.
Hire periods
The rental days commences at the time of pick-up and drop
off times selected. If you wish to extend the rental period
after collection, extensions of hire period will be charged
locally at a local daily rate which may be higher than
our rates. It may be possible to extend your reservation
by calling Reservations at Car Rental Abroad on 0871 52
00 233 to extend your rental period at our pre-booked prices
however we cannot always guarantee this extension.
Provision of vehicles
Our local car rental partner can refuse to provide a vehicle
to any customer who is in their opinion unfit to drive
or does not meet the eligibility requirements. In these
cases, your contract with us is terminated immediately,
and we will have no further liability to you, and no refund
will be due.
Driving restrictions
Restrictions may be applicable when crossing country and
state borders. Please mention this to our local car rental
partner when collecting your vehicle as additional insurance
may be required which is charged locally.
Number of passengers
Our rental cars are insured for a maximum number of passengers.
Car Rental Abroad cannot accept responsibility if the vehicle
is not large enough to fit all passengers and luggage on
arrival if full details were not supplied/given at the
time of the booking. In the interest of safety, this number
must not be exceeded and if exceeded the insurance will
be invalidated.
Car Rental Abroad displays approximate passenger and luggage
capacities on our site for guidance only. We can not accept
responsibility if the rented vehicle is not large enough
to accommodate all passengers and luggage.
General conditions
Car Rental Abroad act as a brokers and agents for various
car rental companies in various countries in which
we operate. All vehicles booked via our website or by phone
will be subject to the law of the country, in which it
is supplied to you. You will be required to sign a rental
contract with the local car rental company that supplies
the vehicle to you. You should satisfy yourself that you understand
and agree to its terms and conditions, as you will be subject
to, and must comply with these terms, and the local law
of the country.
Car Rental Abroad accepts no responsibility for and shall
not be liable in respect of any loss, damage, alterations,
delays or changes arising from civil strike, industrial
disputes, including air traffic control disputes, terrorist
activity, epidemic outbreaks, natural and nuclear disaster,
fire or adverse weather conditions, unavoidable technical
problems with transport or luggage, closure or congestion
of airports or ports, cancellation of scheduled airlines
and financial failure of airlines.
Car Rental Abroad reserves the right to levy any government
increase in local VAT or change in law that may be introduced
after the date of booking.
Car Rental Abroad cannot accept liability for any additional
charges, which you sign for and accept locally. Car Rental
Abroad, will not be held responsible for anyone driving
under the influence of alcohol/ drugs, parking/driving
violations, causing wilful damage, off road driving, driving
without due care and attention and dangerous driving. This
list is not exclusive and the client will indemnify Car
Rental Abroad against any such claims.
